Tell us about your background
‘I was born and raised in Killybegs, Co. Donegal. We came to Dingle, my father’s hometown back in 1970. My father, Benny Moore was a prominent figure in the fishing industry along the Wild Atlantic Way. My mother, Bridget and with us children worked the family pub & guesthouse, The Faraway Haven in the heart of Dingle town. This was my apprenticeship in the tourism and hospitality industry. I consider myself very fortunate to have grown up with parents who nurtured a strong work ethic. In 1992, I began my own journey in business. Over 15 years, I opened two gift shops in Dingle and launched a mail order service known as www.dingleshop.com with the objective of growing quality Irish products at home and abroad. In 2007, I sold my business and began working as a freelance sales agent with Irish, UK and European markets In 2012, as General Manager of the Dingle Distillery, I embarked on a new journey, with a team that embraces everything that The Dingle Peninsula has to offer. Then in 2017, I transitioned to the position of Global Accounts Manager with the Dingle Distillery, Most recently, I have been working across the length and breadth of the United States, sharing the story of Dingle and meeting amazing people along the way.
